Atlus has great voice acting in many of its games, I agree. But as far as deep mechanics is concerned, they may be complex, but there is the tendency for redundancy between several titles. Square Enix on the other hand is constantly testing out new ideas and trying out different styles of play, while still weaving captivating characters and plots that draw you in and make you want to see how the story ends.

What? Sure, Atlus games aren't as SHINY, but the voice acting is invariably better and the mechanics FAR more interesting and far deeper.

Pfft. To each his own. Atlus is a badass company and has made some of the most memorable gaming experiences I've personally had (Disgaea, SMT: Nocturne) but they're no Square Enix.
